Genetic Algorithms for Geometry Optimization
Solar Irradiation Performance
The project’s objective was to create a digital flexible environment for designers to generate a building surface, shading system and optimize them using genetic algorithms in order to achieve a better building environmental performance at early design stages. The environmental criterion tackled in the project was the solar irradiation, an analysis developed based on the cumulative sky method. This interactive design platform was developed on Processing, Java-based environment.
