As a response to the project’s nature and client’s requirements, the exterior extension of ice cairo in Zamalek was designed according to principles of social, economic and environmental sustainability, and creative out of the box thinking. The design intent was to reflect the vision and ideology of ice cairo into the architecture of the pavilion, thus acting as an indirect marketing tool. The design was based on the work of ice cairo in translating ideas using ordinary materials into extraordinary unique pieces of creativity. The pavilion’s building element was recycled wood pieces largely used in the construction industry, designed in a system that easily tailors itself to the desired temporary functionality.
